Ayumi : Maximum Hacking :)

Well, it's time to sum it all up here guys. Latest shot, latest setup, and latest hacks. :) I spent an unreal amount of time on this one, and got so caught up in choosing bitmaps for my dialog boxes, that I forgot to change the damn icons! So, same set that was in use last time, still match of course though, no problem there I don't believe.

Anyway, running Grigri's HTML taskswitch app here. Looks nice, runs good, and works perfect. It's rare that anything goes in that order for me on this hacked to death copy of 98, but I got really lucky on this time around. :) Also, the dialogs all have bitmaps on them now, and I'm loving it too. I tried to pick some reasonably good looking images to put on there, but, this mainly is an example of what can be done. Choosing the right image and overall dialog box design will from now on be an ongoing process for sure.

The wall was used in a really nice screenshot over at Customize.org. I don't login, nor do I comment, but I do look, and I had to have this wall. So, I downloaded the screenshot, edited ALOT, and made it my own. Trendy it may be, but damn she's just too hot not to have on my desktop! LOL

Ok, now for the list:

Wall: Ayumi Hamasaki (Edited by me, recieved from Customize.org)
Winamp: Milk (Trendy, overused skin, but my first time, and it's nice!)
Icons: Block OS and Simple mixture (I really did forget to change up):)
Hacked Start Menu
Hacked Desktop Right Click Menu
Hacked Run Box with bitmap
Hacked Open/Save Box with bitmap
Hacked Taskbar Properties box with bitmap
Running Tclock 2
Running Grigri's Taskswitch app
No Eppie set yet again, still using Grindlestone's Marlett, and love it!

Ok, that should cover it. Hope you guys like. :)

impressive ....now if only I could get around to actually starting to hack windows (tho I'm on a multi-user setup but they're alil flexible) btw...I have a site for alot of various images of her (Ayumi Hamasaki)(i.e. wallpaper, webview, icons, etc.) if ya want it let me know (begins to ponder if he should really switch from explorer back to litestep -tried it a few times - maybe...maybe not.)

You have a site of your own with her being the content Dejitary? Is that what you meant? Or you know of a good site? Either way, link me up man. I've been hunting her down and not much luck. Her name pulls up maybe a few hundred on Google, and by the time you filter through the forums she was mentioned on, or something to do with her music, you don't have much left to choose from. :) Please, link me up to whatever you have. :)

Glad you liked the shot, and hey LiteStep is nice, but Reshacker is so much fun! LOL

nice job. :) too white for my taste, though.

meh. It's okay.... ;) Nice job WinT!

05 Mar. 2003 - 16:56 dejitaru
not my site just a good link Here! ...btw your right about the litestep vs. reshacker thing but like i said I am kinda limited to how far I can currently go besides I like the recent influx of Linux's various windowmaker/blackbox (and the various others like it) styles/themes so feh. anyways hope ya like the link. *slight edit* that site does have some more links ...and they're pretty good ones too -also cleaned up the link ^up there so its nicer and ya don't have to copy & paste it *edit 2* and added some words I left out before

*WinT slaps Explicit for his comment, as he is supposed to appreciate this kind of thing! LOL Just kidding.

Tcm, thanks, and I love white. :)

Dejitaru, thanks for the link man. Will put it to use for sure. And hey, don't get me wrong, I wasn't knocking LS in anyway, as it does make for some nice screenshots. If you're limited on hacking abilities due to your computer situation, I'de certainly go with LS. :)

hey WinT just outta curiosity how did ya get tclock 2 to display your sys. resources?

05 Mar. 2003 - 18:08 WinT
Ok. You have to be in 9X/ME for it to work, not sure what you're running, but, you'll need to pull up Tclock 2's properties box, then hit the FORMAT tab, then type the following line in:

h:nn |SyS RG%|GDI RU%|CPU CU%|

Oh, and don't forget, you'll need to have the CUSTOM FORMAT box checked, and then type that line above in in the field provided.

The % and the | marks I put there myself. Tclock will display the stats without seperators or titles if you wish, but I prefer to have them seperated. So,, do as you wish with it, as it's pretty much unlimited.

At the end of the line, if you wanted some personalized text that says just anything, you can have that also, just be sure to use quotation marks " " at the beginning and end of your personal statement. :)

ok great i'm on 98se ...where did ya learn the extra formats? I looked in the various txt files and didn't see those .....and btw I knew ya wasn't knocking LS earlier either

05 Mar. 2003 - 18:43 WinT
Good, I'm glad you didn't take me wrong on the LS thing :) It's been known to happen before! LOL

And the source of the code information for Tclock was from none other then the man himself, Plastic. Plastic is one of those guys that just knows things you know? And he just happened to know that. :)

Is it working for you? Let me know.

05 Mar. 2003 - 18:47 dejitaru
yep sure is working ....and yea I've known it's happened before seen it happen ...main reason is probably because what most people use LS for is just eyecandy *just shakes his head* anyways thanks and do ya know of anymore(custom formats) ....wonders if plastic does to?

05 Mar. 2003 - 19:30 WinT
You know, I think that's it man on the formats. In fact, in the older versions of Tclock, Plastic told me that RAM usage was available, which CPU and RAM usage are my most needed. i don't really need to monitor anything else besides those two things. Unfortunately though, Two_TonE took the RAM code out of Tclock 2. Hopefully, he'll put it back in. :)

Glad it's working for you though, really glad, it's nice to have in the systray, and looks nice too. :)

05 Mar. 2003 - 19:48 plastic
I don't think Two_toNe took the RAM code out, he worked on older source files with it not in yet, I presume. Added all code available here; I'd like and use RAM available indeed, will alert Two_toNe, as he problably doesn't read all threads here ;).

05 Mar. 2003 - 20:07 WinT
Ah, good Plastic. Didn't mean to misquote you up there, I got mixed up. :) A habit of mine lately. But yeah, Ram and CPU, those are the best two, for me anyway, although, I suppose the option to monitor any and all would be good too. :)

Nice work again and as usual.

Perhaps using foobar2000 as your mp3 player instead of winamp would blend into your total look better. Then all the windows would match perfectly.

I had no idea you could get system stats with Tclock!

06 Mar. 2003 - 04:34 WinT
Foobar2000? I don't even think I've heard of the one Grindlestone. You use it? LIke it? Does it work well? Look better then Winamp? Hmm, new thoughts :)

Thanks for the comments though, and yeah, I had no idea about those stats either until just recently when Plastic let me in on it. I can't be without them now. :)

Thanks again.
