And I like the milk mod, it actually isn't super white like most.

I also use Adium at work, it's a nice little app. The closest thing i've tried on windows is Miranda.

By the way, any tips you can share to save resources on OS X? I've already turned off unnecessary dock animation effects, changed the minimize effect, and disabled dashboard. And Adobe CS2 still crashes with 1gb ram on the intel imac.

It might just be CS2. Have you tried CS3 Beta?
If you don't have a cs2 license key, you can try for 2 days.

You could disable spotlight if you don't use it.

I've honestly never have a had a problem with my macbook memory wise. But I also can't afford photoshop and use gimp.

You were right, it was mostly CS2, since it wasn't mactel native. We eventually upgraded to 2GB ram and CS3 (mactel native but no 64bit support, argh!). Much better. I'm no longer with the company, and haven't been using CS. All i can say is, vmware in the background sure didn't help.

Overall, OS X was/is very polished, but i disliked the un-snappy feel of the desktop.

I guess we'll continue this conversation when gimp finally reached it's GEGL future, lol.
