GBLX-OS v1.4 Beta

This is my first 'showing off' post here. There is still some visual kinks to be worked out, and perhaps someday I'll make a site devoted to all of the trouble I've taken to get here :P.

What you see:

-TClock2
- Active desktop (my pi?ce de resistance, more another day)
- methodik's K-Taskmod (transparent taskbar - love it!)
- Sysmetrix

What you get: http://www.lddp.ca/gblxos_desk_beta1.jpg

GBLX-OS is Win2k Sp4

I miss my tclock2... Anyone know where I can get the most recent version?

Pretty, easy on the eyes. Only thing looking a bit like a leftover from an old theme is the startbutton. Explicit, here.

plastic -> yeah, that's exactly it, I'm in between two themes at the moment.

The upper left display is absolutely fantastically done. I don't much like the taskbar/systray though. But then again me and taskbars never have jived too much in the past, so it's just personal bias.

All in all it seems very strange and mismatched for some reason. The style of the upper left doesn't fit with the rest of the display to me. I think you should use the theme that you've begun with the system info displays and run with it. Design around that and I think it would be one of the greatest desktops I've seen to date.

Kudos.

Thanks for the input Blackened. The upper left is actually what my first wall paper was based on, but then I got sick of. I'll admit that the wallpaper on there now doesn't fit too well, but hopefully I'll make it work eventually, because I am NOT changing the interface in the upper left! I've spent way to much time on it.

I'll post some other time about the functiaonality of that little ditty, but I am kinda pressed for time.

Dude! I really liked the way your taskbar looks like!
The taskbar itself is completely transparent, while you can see the minimized tasks.

but how simple is it to click on the tasks? tclock2 have the same ability but there you must click the icon or the text to get the button to work...

>> Hobgoblin - yeah, you're right. It's not all that bad of a curse, though. Definetly a small price to pay!

How do you make the taskbar transparent, and keep the start menu and try un-transparent?

Good to see that there are at least two people I know of still fighting a rearguard action with 2k - you... and me.

08 Dec. 2004 - 05:07 Blackened
Ay, I'm on 2k also :P

Crosenblum:
Use K-Taskmod: you have to have your start button .bmp (that you selected with TClock, or whatever) the same background colour as your 3D Face colour .

grindlestone / Blackened
Yeah! Fight the power of the XP! I won't submit anytime in the forseeable future...
