Freeware Icon Editor

Well its sort of an editor. You can create icons by pasting graphic files from the clipboard and add transparency but no editing.

Nice!

Thats usually all I need to do anyways, paste in and set transparency, I usually do most of my icon pixel pushing in either photoshop or mspaint. Yes, mspaint! Its got transparent dragging which Microangelo doesn't have (or, at least, I haven't found it in my old version yet). [I also tried SnIco edit, its bodgy too :(]

First time I've seen it. Editing is a little different but being able to edit odd size icons is a very nice feature. Next time I get the urge to convert some 'nix' icons I won't have to change the size to edit the transparency.
icon sushi, what a name. I live in the southern US. I wonder if they serve grits with that.
For anyone who isn't aware of Liquid Icon:

You mean again, spyeder..he,he.....Sushi isn't really an editor in the strictest sense, but a good addition along with a graphics app.

The above application is only for creating or editing in the formats .bmp, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tga, but then can be saved in the Windows .ico format. You cannot import an existing .ico file to edit. (or that I can find a way to do so)

I keep finding these things while searching for a later version of Microsoft GIF Animator. So far I haven't been able to find a later version than 1.0.0.101
Anyway heres another one. 32x32x256 color but you can edit the palette.

Have these been added to the list of icon making apps?

26 Aug. 2003 - 01:36 plastic
Heh, no, and you know it :). Point is, two full featured icon editors, free, there, only gonna display similar great stuff.

Also, content at a halt here, while kmr is finishing changes to (css) structure that will help us in future. Got a huge list of stuff to add, will have to wait, monitoring it all again, though.

A very good one (+cursors, animations, and icon library editing):

but i prefer paint shop pro and irfanview combo. paint shop pro freeware version can do great edits for icon jobs while exporting icons. irfanview is for size compression. although the icon editors like microangelo and axialis are themselves great apps, but since they're shareware with limited / disabled features, i'm set back by them.

but it's nice to see so much of freeware abound. thanx a lot everyone contributing them.
