System Tray Task Switcher
I had an idea today and I was wondering if anyone else thinks this might be a good one.
I'm tired of having to go ""(Hold the ALT button and Tab - Tab - Tab - Tab)"" until I get to the right app. What if, instead of having to constantly use the stupid Alt+Tab to switch between apps, there were an icon in the system tray that shows a menu-style-list of the apps that can be switched? Basically an Alt+Tab in the systray.
I think it's a good thought. Does anyone else? Or even, has it been done already and if so where?
Thanks,
Rob

hmm, i belive i have seen solutions for that floating around on fileforum.com and similar places.
and as im kinda hooked on powerpro these days, i can say that it should be able to do what your asking for. but may take a bit of time to config...

I quite like the alt-tab combination actually, I find using the keyboard is a lot faster than using the mouse. The system tray being as small as it is, it would be a long-winded solution for me. That said, to each his own...

Thanks for the replies ^_^
I found my answer. Guess from where??? Right here at virtualplastic. I know.. crazy right... Apparently Methodik had the same idea and created xTaskSwitch v0.807.
It works great! Could use some added features but it's great for what I was looking for.
Thanks Again.

ther best alt+tab tool is taskswitchXP. it gives you a preview of all tasks, replaces the alt+tab of windows, and you can have a mouse button (in my case, logitech 4th button in the mouse) to activate it.... it's the best.

i second choo-chee's suggestion, altough
Fungus AltTab is a potential rival, if and when Redllar implement all those "to-do-features".

Yeah, me too... it kept thinking the alt key was down, and when I double-clicked a file item I got the properties. I thought I was going crazy until I disabled fungus. Shame, I like the look...
