What DO you want displayed (toolbar buttons, address bar, links bar, throbber) ? Getting rid of everything is most easy, dunno if Stefanka did that by means of registry (toolbar showing at his screenshot is Y's toolbar, maybe that does display when everything is gone, not sure), or maybe he used javascript in his shellstyle (suppose that's possible).

Anyway, can be done in registry, but answer question above first.

Edit: hehe, he's not hiding that bar actually, it's on the right - "Datei" (which is 'File' in German) + chevron. Still, it can be done.

well im usin y'z toolbar so i got the toolbar, i hid the throbber through y'z toolbar and i hid the adressbar too. what i would exactly to be hidden is:
datei bearbeiten ansicht favoriten extras ? (since my sys is german ) Didn't notice it was on the right, yeah, but looks kinda odd, makin it disappear completely would b perfect.

hrm, I'm not sure what Y'z toolbar does here concerning hiding those bars, and while I started a long explanation with uncertain factors, this can be done more easy. In registry, browse to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser

It's the ITBarLayout binary value. Could you post its content as you have it now (rightclick 'shellbrowser' folder in left pane, choose 'export') ? Probably can point out one or two small modifivcations that will make it work.

Or, if you backup and stuff, set 37th pair (offset 0024) to '05' and that will make it work, most probably.

If not, let me explain and maybe you can fiddle with settings to make it work for you. I took your settings and changed 3 of these pairs.

Offset 10h - 17th pair, changed to 11. Don't change, this tells Windows to display toolbar buttons, and not to display links/address bar and the throbber.

The removal of the file/menu bar is done with offset 18h - 25th pair (changed to 02), in combination with offset 24h - 37th pair (changed to 81). We don't know what exactly is happening there (beaker has them at 05 and 02 respectivily, worth a try if not working), settings needed seem to differ for people sometimes.

I played with Y'z toolbar a bit, it reset my toolbar a couple of times before, but it seems to able to be combined with these settings, on my computer at least. You might have to uncheck the option to hide the throbber in Y'z toolbar, as that's what seems to reset everything here, the regsettings hide it anyway.

just one last question, is this kinda hack possible with other progs, like ie, or even non-ms stuff, like vlc media player for example(i just know how to do this for firefox, thats how the story started)? or do i hav to test out some changes to the code through reshack or somethin like that?

Usually menus in other programs are hardcoded. Here is a link to WinT's menu editing section. Most of his tutorials are shell related, but his methods will usually transfer to third party stuff as well.
