Console

I came across this and thought some here would enjoy it. I'm playing with it, but command line isn't really my scene.

You can invoke it from a context menu and run it as a dockable semi- trans frameless window, which looks quite cool.

Excellent! More command line fun!
I don't know why, but I somehow feel smarter when I use the command line! Heh! ;) :P

Thanks grindlestone! :)

Yes, very nice. I am messing it around right now...not sure if I'll work it into everyday use, but a niftah find indeed.

i love console. it's my default front-end for my command prompt. i added a run shortcut so i can easily bring it up.

for some reason, there are some glitches in 1.41 (or 1.42, i forget) that let me do some interesting transparency effects, so i never upgrade.

It has its limits. Most obnoxious one being no horizontal scrolling.

Unfortunately, the author announced aeons ago that he was going to completely redo console, but the nearest estimate of when this is supposed to happen is at the end of the year or next year, in other words, not anytime soon.

dreamz: What kind of effects?

craeonics: i managed to get a really good transparency where the whole window is transparent and the text is opaque. it's not alpha transparency (partial %-wise transparency) or fake transparency (the background always shows through), but complete transparency. when i upgraded to 1.5x, it didn't work anymore (same config).
