Help - Messed up something in Windows ?

I ran this program that I found when cleaning my HD called GameXP - I meant to close it but I ran it which messes with settings in windows to make it faster..now my Visual style has all funky 3d buttons and my formerly flat menus are also ugly 3d..and even if I reapply my Style it won't fix it. Also most of the options on the Display>Effect page (like font smoothing) are now disabled as well and I have no font smoothing..

Anyone have any clue what I've done..I used the program and "restored windows defaults" but no change.

Hehe, I did a windowsXP repair thinking that might fix thep problem..but it didn't >,< Still have the ugly 3d menus and still he greyed out options on the effects menu.

The only thing it DID do was mess up all my hacks..course I have backups just have to replace em..but I still have my original problem...hope someone can help!

Bah, time to format =D

I used windows repair and it just messed up more.

Bout time I did a full format anyways....I'll just backup all my files (luckily I keep all my customization and modding files backed up anywyas on a seperate hard drive that doesnt get formatted)

so NM on the help..was bout time for a cleanup anyways..

Alrighty, that went well..only took about 45 mins to format, reinstall windows, reinstall my hacks and stuff. No problems..which is rare on a reformat

Anyways..I was just curious if anyone knows what caused the original problem anyways? I know it has to do with REG settings that GameXP program did..but just curious if anyone knows what they mighta been.

it's probably an app that disables services and options, tweaks the registry, and turns off as much as it can. always risky business.

next time you got issues like always post a link to a screenshot

and I never play pc games cuz of shit like that. I dare not load onr pc game on my system unless is a windowed one not the ones that go fullscreen and messes up my video settings.
