Links Menu Path Control?

As some might know, I'm trying to set the path of the "Links" folder to the same as the "Favorites" folder. Reason being I want to...
1) Essecialy have no "Links" folder (thus more space in menus)
2) Have all urls show in the "Links" toolbar (via submenus/folders)

I've looked through the registry and X-Setup, but no dice. Closest thing I could find was what I think was the title of the links folder.

Any tips welcome at this point. >:)

Red, I told you how to do this in the other thread :) Once you delete the registry value that I pointed you to, the Links text will be removed from the bar, and your Favorites folder becomes your Links toolbar. Anything in your favorites folder will show up on the links bar, it's just that simple.

Look again at my desktop real quick:

HERE

See IE up at the top? Look to the far right. You'll see three things. URL, MOD, and P.U.S. URL is a folder, which contains all of my most visited sites, and also I placed some subfolders in there to manage all of my lesser visited sites, which of course, those become submenus within the URL folder/menu. MON and P.U.S. are two applications that I run while on the net, MON being a detailed modem activity monitor, and P.U.S. being my popup stopper that I still occasionally have to load up.

So, again, instructions were correct that I gave you, and if you deleted the reg value, then you've completed the hack. Remember, delete the ENTIRE registry entire "LinksFolderName" wipe it out completely. Don't just erase it's value of "Links", that will not work. Again, delete the entire thing.

Let me know if you need further assistance :)

Oh, just read your other thread on the WaveTop thing, your last postings, and I should point out, that the LInks folder is NOT a menu. You keep referring to a menu, and unless I'm not on the same page as you, it's not a menu, it's only a folder, that's all.

Should note too that I renamed my menu items for the IE toolbar menus, as you can see in the shot I linked you to. The original entry of course was Links, but I changed it to URL, though it still does the same thing, just a simple renameing of a menuitem.

You mentioned to something about setting a path, and this you just don't need to fool with. Erase that reg entry like I said above, and the path will go right to the c:\windows\favorites folder.

Any folder can be a menu in LiteStep. 8) Plus it's part of the favorites menu. I know that is a folder and popup2.dll or some part k-meleon is the menu, but that goes without saying to me.

I'm trying this out now. I missed it before. ^.^ I'll let you know if it works.

*Red reboots...

YAY for Red!!! And see, you were talking in LS terms on me, so I was lost on your "menu" thing :) But hey, on the Links toolbar, any folder becomes a menu there as well, so we're even :) YAY!

You could claim a folder is a type of menu in windows. >:) hehe

Anyway, I've switched things arround, and now I have lots of menus.

Now I just wish it was fitt's law complient. I'm going to try and make something in LiteStep to take care of that.

I agree, one could say that about folders couldn't they? :) I'de like to see some sort of result here Red. Got a ss you could post up? Particularly, one of your Links bar in action?

My desktop is still in a transitional stage. It's WAY too bright, but I deal with it for mow. I need to just make a few skins and I'll be set. I'm a slow skinner though.

Very good Red. Looks like it's working perfectly man. That simplicity theme is a classic isn't it? I see alot of re-colored versions of it floating around, always looks nice.

Actualy it recolors itself. Blue, grey, capchino, maroon, etc. all in the same theme. It even changes the colors o match, but some how not permanently. If "Simplicity" isn't the them, it goes back to the old colors. Full screen games can revert it by accident too. It makes it a little more tolerable knowing black is underneath all this color. >:)

You should try it out some time. Not to switch over to it, but just to see how it works. It's a fun little toy, litestep. Often I just press the buttons lie you would when you first saw the 95 start menu. ^.^
