If you want to block a whole domain:
Start > Run > notepad "%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
Add the line:
0.0.0.0 SiteToBlock.com
You can also use 127.0.0.1 in place of 0.0.0.0.

Addy
Open Internet Options -> Goto Security -> Select Restricted Sites -> Click Sites
YAY GUI based!
How about a proxy? Would that work too? And would the SiteToBlock.com trick work on 98 and for no IE browsers?

the hosts file thing that undefined mentioned will work not just for browsers, but for anything that tries to connect to that address. a proxy would work just as well, but the hosts file is probably much easier to set up

good proxy for this and many other filter-jobs:
proxomitron
So the SiteToBlock.com trick will work on 98 too?

I'm sure that a solution has been worked out in the 8 years since the last post to this topic.
